James Greer: [00:00:01] Morning, Journey Church. Hey, this morning's service is going to be, the title is in His presence. And I want you to know there's really something cool about in His presence. Of course, it's the greatest presence. But in His presence is when things happen. When you come into His presence, things happen. And I hope you come into His presence today, and I hope things begin to happen in your life. Amen. Luke 1:79 says this to give light to those who sit in darkness. If you came today and you're in darkness or in the shadow of death. To guide our feet into the ways of peace. Since there's some people that came even here this morning that said, Man, I seem like my life is dark. Things just aren't going my way. And Jesus said, Well, good. I'm glad you're here today because I want to give you light and I want to give you peace. Amen. I mean, Jesus, when you really study about Jesus, I mean, he brought light. You ready from the womb to the tomb? I mean, you're going to find that even when Jesus was in the darkest of the womb, he calls light. He walked in the room and he calls a baby to sleep while they were in the womb. I mean, Jesus can bring light in the darkest times of your life. In fact, I want you to know that, number one, number one, the power of His presence is the greatest present of all.

James Greer: [00:01:27] And we're going to start reading that. It really is. Because in Luke chapter 1, verse 39 and following it says this, It says, Now, Mary arose in those days and went into the country with haste into the city of Judah. And I love this part. And she entered into the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. y'all remember Zacharias Elizabeth's right there, the ones that couldn't get pregnant, and old Zacharias at 85 and 88 years old, he gets Elizabeth pregnant. And the reason things happen, it wasn't just Mary walked in the room. The reason things happened because Mary walked in the room and Jesus was in her womb. Mary walked in the room and Jesus was in the womb. And when Jesus in the room, things happen. Hey, man. Well, Liz was heard the greeting of Mary because Jesus in the womb that the bear, the baby leaped in her womb. That baby was John the Baptist. And Elizabeth, at 88 years old, was filled with the Holy Spirit. I mean, don't tell me Jesus can't do miracles. Amen. And she spoke out with a loud voice and she said, Blessed. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit. Of your womb. I mean, I want you to know that it happens, that things happen when Jesus comes in the room and things happen because he was in her womb. But I want to tell you that when you get saved, Jesus Christ called the Holy Spirit lives in me and it lives in you. And really thanks to start happening when we come in the room. But the wonderful thing about it is Jesus is in the house. Amen. And because she is in the house, things can still happen. See, Mary. Apart from Jesus Christ, things wouldn't have been happening. See things happen. The miracles happen because Jesus was there. Apart from Jesus, the miracles wouldn't happen. But Mary plus Jesus couldn't help but to have miracles.

James Greer: [00:03:39] So you might be here today. And of course, you're not carrying the baby in the womb. You might be carrying a burden. Somebody might be carrying a dream, a hope. Some may be carrying a hurt. But it's the same answer that changes everything with Elizabeth, the answer to the prayer was Jesus in the womb, which is called the Holy Spirit to me in you. Jesus being in the presence or our presence changes everything. It can still change it today. With Elizabeth, it was the baby that leaped in the womb. With you, it might be that you need something else. It could be love and joy and peace. I started thinking, What are some of the things that could change? With Jesus. In the room. Well, a lot of things. Number one, one of the things that could happen this morning is that your prayers could be answered because Jesus is in the room. Y'all do know where the Bible says again, I say unto you, if two of you agree on Earth concerning anything. Concerning what? That you asked. First of all, you got to be concerned in anything. Right? And then second of all, you got to ask. And third of all, it will be done unto them by my Heavenly Father. Well, let me tell you what. We have more than two in the room. Amen. And we have the Holy Spirit that lives in us. Amen. And it says two or three together can come together in the name, and I'm there in the midst of them.

James Greer: [00:05:23] So one of the things that can happen in the house, when Jesus comes in the house and he's in the house and two or three together, the prayers could be answered. Now, let me show y'all how somebody was transformed. By the presence of God. And in Mark chapter 1, it said, and again he Jesus. He entered in the room. He entered into Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that he was in the house. Wouldn't it be good every time if you came to Journey Church that you heard that Jesus was in the house? By the way, I hope you know when you come to Journey Church that Jesus is in the house. Amen. And they came into him. They brought a paralyzed man with him. And it took four men to carry the guy. And when they got to the door, they couldn't get in. Because it was so full, it was so crowded. So they uncovered the roof. I think that would be cool. You come to church, it is so full. You can't come in. They said, we're going to get through anyway. They broke through and they let the man through the bed. And because he was paralyzed, I was laying down. They put him at the feet of Jesus.

James Greer: [00:06:33] Guess what happened? When Jesus saw their faith. The faith of the men, by the way. I love this verse because you know what? The first before that I said things happen when people pray. Amen. That you know, when it says that the four men let the fair last guy down that says when Jesus saw their faith, it does not say they saw the paralyzed man's faith. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the guy, the man that was paralyzed. He said, Son, your sins are forgiven you. One of the other things, first thing that happens when Jesus was in the house, prayers were answered. Amen. Second of all, sins are forgiven. I don't care what you did. I don't care what you've done. If Jesus is in the house and he's in the house today, your sins can be forgiven. Amen. That's what I love about Journey Church. I don't care where you came from. I don't care what you've done. You're accepted here. But more so than accepted with us, you're accepted with Jesus Christ because He wants to forgive your sins and give you a brand new start. Isn't that great? And then he says, Not only your sins forgiven you, he says, Arise and take up your bed. And do what? Walk. So listen. Number one, your prayers are answered. Amen. Number two, he saw their faith. Sins are forgiven if you're here, no matter what, your sins can be forgiven. Number three, he took up his faith and walked.

James Greer: [00:08:06] He left different than he came. Huh? Everybody here, you can leave a different way than you can. You could came. You can be in darkness. You can be in sadness. You could be without hope. You can be living in sin. But then you can be transformed. And your life can be different. Your marriage can be different. Your life can be different. Your home could be different. Everything in your life can be different. Amen. Man, we got a great God. Amen. You don't have to leave the same way that you came. You can live with abundant life. You can live with love and joy in peace, long suffering. You can leave with patience when you never had it before. I mean, you can leave a different person. And it happened. When Elizabeth heard the greetings of Mary that the baby leaped in the womb and Mary was filled with the Holy Spirit. When you feel with the Holy Spirit, things change in your life. And she spoke with a loud voice. Instead of cussing. She was blessed. Blessed are you among women and blessed are you in the fruit of the womb. And so now lives. But she starts blessing Mary and blessing her womb. And I mean, she's blessed everybody. She just stars that instead of talking and saying before, if she didn't even know she'd get pregnant. Now everything she does, she drops down verse 35 and she said, Blessed is he who believes. No, she just blessed Mary. She's blessing the womb. She's blessing y'all all. She said, Do you believe, Oh, Jesus Christ. And you said, Amen. She said, Well, bless you, too.

James Greer: [00:09:30] Isn't it great when Jesus in the House even changes your language? Did you know that most of the time when I'm filled with the Holy Spirit and when I'm in the house, I can change my language? Isn't that great? Did you know that wouldn't that be great this Christmas, whether it's in our house, God's house, or we're visiting other people's house, that we bless that house instead of cursed that house? Did you know in Jeremiah 15:16, it says, When you discover God's Word and you devour it, you take it in. Those are my joy. My heart's delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God is my Heavenly armies. I mean, if you'll just devour God's Word, it can bring a new joy to you. And you'll be different because the Bible says death and life are and the power of the tongue. Do you understand how powerful your words are? And you should love it because you eat the fruit of it. What I'm telling you is during Christmas, a lot of times we're with a lot of people. Sometimes. That's good. Sometimes that's bad. But God says, I want you to bless them. Why don't we try to speak words of blessing to those people? Those that are in our family? Those that we love? Those that we struggle with? And Christmas would be completely different. Because death and life and the power of the tongue. Let's try to speak life into those people. Amen. Okay. Second of all. Second of all. You see the privilege of His presence.

James Greer: [00:11:25] And the reason we say the privilege of His presence, in verse 43, we see Elizabeth saying, But why? She said, my goodness. Wow. Was that granted? Why was this granted to me? Why did I have this privilege of having the mother of the Savior come to see me? What was I for? I indeed, as soon as I heard the voice, I was greeted and sounded my ears and the baby leaped with the womb with joy. She was saying, Man, this is some privilege that I had. In fact, she said, blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment for those things which were told her from the Lord. What Elizabeth was saying, man, why was I greeted with such a great privilege of this? Why was I greeted with such a privilege of being able to get pregnant at 88? Why was I greeted with such a privilege of having the mother of Jesus Christ come into my house and say, If you're not careful during Christmas, you'll be worried about all the things that you don't get and you don't have instead of saying, Why am I such a privilege having Jesus Christ, the Son of the Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given to me. See, if you're not careful, you'll forget the privilege that we're celebrating Christmas. It's not so much when he was born is that he was born. It's not so much said he was born. It said he died. It's not so much that he died. That he rose again and say we're the ones that got the privilege. Not just Mary. You're not just the lizard. Amen.

James Greer: [00:13:00] And if you're not careful, if you're not careful, you forget What a wonderful privilege. Me. And you have. Of the Lord Jesus Christ. And Elizabeth thought she got the privilege. We're the ones that got the privilege. We got the privilege of salvation. We got the privilege of a brand new star. We got the privilege of never having to live in darkness again. We got the privilege of going to Heaven instead of hell. Oh, what a privilege we got. Amen. So we not only got the privilege, we have to find the purpose. There's a purpose of all this. And the purpose is to give light. Is to give light to those that sit in darkness. And we all at one time sit in darkness. We sit not only in darkness, we sit in the shadow of death. Not only we sit in darkness in the shadow of death, but now he came to guide us in the way of peace. One of the main purposes of Jesus Christ coming, of course, was to give us peace. But you cannot have peace until he snatches you out of the shadow of death. Do you understand? They had been sitting in darkness. They had been waiting for a savior. Waiting for a savior. Waiting for a savior. Waiting for a savior. Waiting for savior. All of a sudden, he was born in their fourth light. But just as much as they were waiting for a savior. Me and you, every single person is sitting in darkness and in the shadow of the very edge of death. And to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Now, he wouldn't just talk about a physical death because we're going to all die apart from Jesus return. He was talking about a permanent separation from God. He was talking about. You spend your life in darkness for the rest of your life, apart from this wonderful savior, Jesus Christ. And so he said, listen, one of the purpose he came is to give you life and to save you from darkness. But one of the other purpose was this, in John 1, 4 and 5, which I really like. To him was life, and the life was the light of man. And then look at this. And the light shines in darkness. And darkness was not. Could not overcome it.

James Greer: [00:15:20] Did you know what darkness can never overcome? Light. Do you understand? One of the purposes to no matter how dark your life is right now, if you apply God's word and his light to it, that Jesus Christ has to always overcome the darkest times in your life. Amen. It was one of his purposes. Do you know the second thing? Second thing. That you're going to always triumph through Christ. Did you know Corinthians 2:14 says, Thanks be to God, who always leads us triumph in Christ. He leads us. Not that we do it. He's got to lead us. So in other words, he says, I'm the shepherd. He wants us to follow him. I shall not want. He says, thanks be to God who always leads us to triumph. Guess what? He wants to lead us to triumph. In other words, darkness can never overcome you. You can always triumph. And third, nor does the light, nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but a lamp stand that gives light into the other house. Do you know the third reason he came? That me and you could be light to the world? He wants you to be able to invite people and wants to see people.

James Greer: [00:16:25] And so there's something different about those people with those people have I want he wants to know that you got to love and joy and peace that surpasses all understanding. He wants you to know that you can have abundant life that other people can't have and that light lives in you. And so let your light still shine before men that I might see your good works in it glorify the father. In closing. To do that, you've got to have a couple of things. First of all, you have the presence of Jesus Christ in you. If you're here today and you're not sure. There's been a time that you invited Jesus Christ in your heart as Lord and Savior. Today is the day to do that. There's no better gift than you could ever have. They accept God's greatest gift, Jesus Christ. To do that, you've got to know you send. You've got to believe He sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross and be raised on the third day. And then you've got to ask him to forgive your sins, Come into your heart, take you to Heaven one day.

James Greer: [00:17:21] Because He lives, things can happen. Because He's in the house, things can happen. You might have a prayer that needs to be answered. The Bible says for two or three or gather together, there He is. Can I tell you there's more than two or three here today? We're going to give an invitation in just a moment. And we've got counselors down front. If I had a really prayer that needed to be answered, I think today would be one of the days that I'd come and I'd say, Hey, God. Said anything. God will answer anything except for those things that are outside God's will. And so as today might be the day you need to come and pray with somebody. And let God supernaturally answer that. Some of you have a sin that you've just been hanging on to that's just been burdening you. And today God said, Hey, you know, when they let the paralyzed man down, the four of them, first thing Jesus told me said, Your sins are forgiven. I don't know what a sense where I don't know how bad it is, but it didn't matter. You know what? I think he just said simply, Your sins are forgiven because he didn't want us to start saying, Hey, yours is and yours is not. Yours is. It's yours not. He just wants you to know if you're here today, whether it's online or in here today. He said, it doesn't matter what it is, there's no sin that Jesus Christ will not forgive apart from rejecting Him.

James Greer: [00:18:51] So maybe you need to come and having your sins forgiven and go out like you've never seen before. Not only did he forgive his sins, he said, Get up on this bed and you start walking. He transformed his life. He was a different person when he left. God wants to transform our lives. He want us to lead different. Let's transform our marriages, transform our homes, wants to transform us as dads and husbands and wives. And God said, I can transform your life. They said, Amen. Be in Christ. You're a new creature. Be not conformed to this world. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. As you renew your mind and God's word, I transform your life. Transforms our language. God says, I want you to be a blessing and I want you to bless other people. See, I don't know what God is laid upon your heart today, but I pray if you stand up, let me pray with you and for you that you let God have His will and have his way. Father, I thank you for your word. It's so practical and it's so powerful. Whether it's the answered prayers, forgiveness or sins transform lives, language that need to be changed, whatever it is. God. I pray that you just have your will and your way in each and every person's life here. And I ask it in the name of Jesus. Amen.
