James Greer: [00:00:00] Morning, Journey Church. I'm excited to be in the house of the Lord. Amen. Woohoo! And the title of the message is this. How to be Satisfaction in the Savior. Because I'll tell you, when you're satisfied with something, you always want more of it. Amen. And did you know the same is true with Jesus Christ? When you really get to know him, the more you're satisfied with Christ, the more you want to be with him, the more you want to know about him, and the more you want of him. I'm going to tell you about four things that you could learn in the message today. It's not listed one, two, three, four. But they're kind of woven in the message and you could get them. But in case you miss them, I want to tell you what they are because I'm excited about them. Amen. Number one, number one, to have satisfaction with the Savior, the wonderful thing is you got to understand you're not the Savior. Jesus is. And you're going to understand why that's so important. Because sometimes, I'm going to tell you later on, you'll learn the message, sometimes without knowing it, we get all stressed out because we think we're the Savior. And we can't save anybody. I can't save myself. I can't save my wife. I can't save my family. I can't save my kids. And one of the things I get so stressed out sometimes in my life because I'm trying to save somebody. Only the Savior can.
James Greer: [00:01:21] Number two, to be satisfied in the Savior, you have to understand that the Good Shepherd, which is Emmanuel, God is with us. He's for us. He's watching after us. He's going to protect us. He's going to provide for us. Number three. Number three. To be satisfied with the Savior, you've got to understand that Christ the Lord is with us. Sometimes the Bible says Jesus Christ, and sometimes the Bible says during Christmas, it says, Christ the Lord is with us. When the Bible says Christ the Lord is with us, he's talking about the magnified power of Christ. When he's talking about Jesus Christ, it's still the Christ the Lord. But a lot of times He's emphasizing the humanity of Christ, that Jesus was human and God. But now he's talking about Christ the Lord is with us. In Colossians 1:15 through 17, He tries to kind of explain it to give you a better picture. He says, He is the image of the invisible God. Who is he? Jesus is. God came to Earth where you could see him in the flesh. You said He, Jesus, is the image of God. He's the firstborn of all creation. But then he doesn't say that. He says, Now I want you to know who he is. For by him, Jesus, all things were created that are in Heaven and earth. That's pretty powerful. Amen. Anybody that can create everything in Heaven and earth.
James Greer: [00:02:55] That is the Christ that is with us. Things are visible and invisible, whether they're thrones, whether dominions, whether they're principalities, whether they're power. All things were created through him and for him. That's something. Amen. And he's talking about and he, God, is before all things. Talking about Jesus. And in him, all things exist. He said, I'm above all things. I created all things. I have all power, all dominion, everything. So he says, you're going to learn today that Christ the Lord is with us. And so what He said, one of the good things, one things you're satisfied in the Savior, is that you can know that Christ the Lord is with you. Amen. Fourth. Fourth. To be satisfied in the Savior, to understand that peace, goodwill is for every man, woman, boy, and girl. It is for everybody. Amen. As for this time of year. So let's look at the message in Luke chapter 2 verses eight and nine. It says this. And there were the shepherds. They were living out in the field nearby. They were keeping watch over the flocks at night. And there's an angel Lord appeared to them in the glory of the Lord, shone around about them. And they were terrified. But the thing about it is, the first thing I know that it was the glory of the Lord. There's a few things I want you to know about the glory of the Lord.
James Greer: [00:04:21] One of the things is the great shepherd came for the shepherd the field to announce his birth. The shepherds were watching over the flocks by night. They were willing to die for their sheep. The shepherds were willing to die for the sheep. But the good shepherd, who is Jesus Christ, watches over me and you day and night. But guess what? He did die for his sheep. Me and you. I love it because it talks about how he watched over day and night. And sometimes at night we feel strange. We feel different. And he's reminding us that the Good Shepherd not only is there to watch over us, but he wants you to know that Jesus Christ was the good Shepherd. He not only watched ours, not only was he willing to die, but he did that for me and you. The Good Shepherd in those days were really considered some of the lower class people at that time. The ones that watched the sheep. But Jesus Christ came to save all classes, all races. He came to save the wise, the rich, the poor, the lonely, and the unlearned. Not only did the glory of the Lord shine all around, it tells us that the glorious means victorious, marvelous, wonderful. The glory of the Lord brought light and darkness. And it always, light always overcomes darkness. So. So number two, first of all, the glory of the Lord. Second of all, the greatness of the Lord, the good tidings of the Lord.
James Greer: [00:06:01] In Luke 2:10, it says this. But the angel said to them, Really to me and you. Don't be afraid. I love it. Over and over and over, the Bible continues says, Do not be afraid. You know why I love that? Because God has a message for me, and God has a message for you. I don't care what's going on in your life. God says, Don't be afraid. Why? Because I bring you good news. Not only do I bring you good news, this good news is going to cause great joy for a few people. For all people. I love it because it says I have good news. And it's not just for a few people, but it's for all people. And you no longer have to be afraid because the good news and the great news is for everybody. It doesn't matter where you came from. It doesn't matter what you've done. Did you know I had somebody tell me the other day, man, did you know that I have some kids or I have a son or somebody that's in jail and he gets to watch us every single Sunday? So I think the good news is, even if you're in jail, God's got good news for you. Amen. So He's got good news for those that are in jail. You know what? It's good news for it doesn't matter what race. No matter what economic status for you, there's good news.
James Greer: [00:07:09] It doesn't matter where you at. Doesn't matter where you've come from. There is not only great news because God has, you know what it is? There's no greater power that's for you and with you. And he's with you because his name's Emanuel, which says God is with you personally. See, now, before this, when they wanted to go to God, they'd have to go to priest. They had to offer sacrifices and all. And they never had a personal god. But the reason they're celebrating, we miss it. We don't even enjoy it. Did you know because of Jesus Christ, when you're saved, because of Jesus, you can go straight to God? And you know that that's what they were saying. They were saying, man, the good news is Emanuel. God is with us. We could go to him, straight to him. And there's good news. There's great news. There's no greater power. There's no sin that he won't forgive. There's no person. There's too hard-hearted that God can't save. There's no sin that God won't forgive. There's no person too hard-hearted that God can't save. And the good news is there's no problem too big. And I love it, because when you start talking about it, there's no problem too big, God tells us right in the message of the birth of Jesus Christ, right before that. In Luke 1:37 it says, For a God, there's nothing impossible.
James Greer: [00:08:31] And when he's talking about nothing impossible, he goes back and reminds us, he said, it's there's nothing impossible. He says, You all remember Mary was a virgin and she got pregnant by the Holy Spirit. He said, That's pretty impossible. Amen. And he said, If you don't believe that's it. Did she know her cousin Elizabeth? You remember she was 85 and she got pregnant. That's pretty impossible. Amen. And then God says, I don't know what you came with today, but he said, There's nothing impossible with God. Amen. He says, there's a great power that's with you. There's no sin that's too big. That guy can't forgive. There's no person to bad and there's no situation that's too impossible for God to do. And it's never too late. To start over again. It's never too late to begin again. It's never too late to start serving God. There's never too late to begin again. And the reason I say is never too late for God to answer prayer. Because I start thinking about Elizabeth and Zacharias. They had prayed for 85 years. Some people say it was 87 years before John the Baptist was born. Then they got to start off. They got to be a mom and dad at 80-something years old. So me I'll get to start right now. Some of y'all get to restart in your life. Some of you get started in your marriage. Some of you get to start a new job.
James Greer: [00:09:56] Somebody get a brand new start. It's never too late to start again. Amen. And in fact, I always say your last half or your last half or last quarter, whatever you got left could be your best half if you'll let it be. Amen. And the part about this, the really great news is because you're a child of God, there's no condemnation in the greats. You don't have to live in condemnation and you don't have to live in fear because God did give you a spirit of fear. But the power of love and of Selma. And third and third, the good news of the Lord. The good news of the Lord, and starts in Luke 2:10 through 14, it says. But the angel Lord said again to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy to all the people today in the town of David a Savior. Say Savior. Has been born to you. He is the Messiah the Lord. Now let's see the good news. There's been born that day to David, the city, a Savior who is Christ the Lord. He is Christ the Lord. Amen. And the reason that it says he's Christ the Lord, because he's the almighty one, the emphasis on Christ, the one that has dominion, the power to control everything but Jesus is the Savior who is Christ the Lord, the one that has authority, the power to deliver, to save, to protect the hill, to make whole, to rescue.
James Greer: [00:11:26] But one of the most important things, the most freeing statements in the world, is to understand that he is the Savior and not you. I love that because so many times. I think I can save myself. I have a problem and I get in trouble. I said, if I can only save myself. Save my kids. Save my wife. Save my finances. Save a relationship. But I'm no longer the Savior. God sent Jesus Christ and he's the Savior. And many times what I call stress, what I call pressure, what I call worry, what I call anxiety is nothing more than me and me trying to be the Savior that God never intended me to be. Do you realize how freeing it would be if I would relax and be who God made me to be? And I let Jesus Christ be the Savior that God sent him to be? Let me ask you a question right now. What are you most stressed over in your life? Just really think, what am I most stressed about in my life? And. Why don't I just give it? To the Savior. And realize you're not the Savior. And realize that Jesus is the Savior and that he's present. And the good news is you no longer have to act like the Savior. If somebody is going to change, if somebody is going to be saved, if some ice can be delivered, it's going to be through him.
James Greer: [00:13:03] Now, we might point the way. But we're simply conduits. And God's say, If we do what we do that we can then relax and it's up to him. You talk about freeing. It's unbelievable. Let me let me give you a little bit more good news. This is going to be a sign to you. You're going to find a baby. He's going to be wrapped in cloth. He's going to be laying in a manger. Suddenly there's a great company of Heavenly hosts appeared with the angels. They were praising God and they were saying. Glory to God in the highest. And on earth. Peace to men. Whom his favor rest. But it's exciting that the peace of God is on Earth and is for all men, women, boys and girls. And the reason that's so important, if you spend too much time watching the news today, you don't think we got peace. You don't think we have peace in any cities? You don't think we have peace at home? You don't think we have peace in church? But Jesus Christ came to bring peace to all men, women, boy and girl. But see, we're looking at peace in the world since. And he brings peace in our heart. And any man, woman, boy and girl that knows Jesus Christ as a personal Savior can have peace while they're here. This is a reminder that he is to have goodwill.
James Greer: [00:14:37] And forgiveness towards all men. Part of having peace and goodwill towards all men is to say, hey, there's this is somebody I don't have peace and goodwill towards. Is there somebody I need to have peace and goodwill towards? One of the reasons sometimes we don't have peace is because we don't have peace and goodwill towards so-and-so. It's a reminder, is there somebody that we need to forgive? Do you know? During our three services, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, we're going to have a candlelight service, We're going to have a short Lord's supper. And if I would never partake in the Lord's Supper. Without examining who I need to forgive. And so if there's somebody that you need to forgive and you want to have peace towards all men. Today's the day to start doing that. So, hey, God, this is who I need to forgive. And part of that peace and goodwill is, of course, to make sure Jesus is your Savior. But make sure you have forgiven. The true sense of having peace is to make sure you're saved. You depend upon Christ and you represent Christ in the situation and God gives you peace in any situation. The prescription to peace on Earth, which he said, peace on Earth, goodwill to all men. If Jesus said we could have it, we could have it. Amen. I'm giving you the simple prescription on how to have it. If you're saved and if you're right with God and right with others, you've got to be saved.
James Greer: [00:16:20] You depend upon Christ and not others. You represent Christ in the situation. And you can have peace. See, Acts tells us this. In Acts 16:31. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you could be saved. So the first thing, if you're here today and you're not sure that you're safe, that's the first thing you'd have to do in Matthew 23, 2239 says Love the Lord, the God with all your heart, all your saved, love your neighbor as your safe, so as yourself. So you got to love others. In other words, the way we treat people, talk to people, respond to people the way we forgive people. And the Bible says the way you love one another, you'll know my disciples. People do not know where Christian. About what we believe. They don't know that. You can go all out in the world. You can go in your family, you can come and church. People don't know you're a Christian by what you believe. People know that you're a Christian by how you behave. You're the light of the world and God wants to behave in a way that people know that we're Christian. And listen. When we behave, when our behavior comes as a result of our transformation. Result is peace of God, which he said it can be for all men. If you're here today and you don't have the peace of God today, God wants you to have it.
James Greer: [00:17:54] He wants to have it. Make sure that you save make sure you follow through in public baptism, because that's the next step. Make sure you're right with God. Make sure you're right with others. Make sure you're representing him. Make sure dependent upon him. We started out, we said, you know that we want you to know the glory of God. The Gloria. God says, Hey, I want to bring light and darkness. So if you came here today and there's darkness in your life, there's some spot God says, Would you come today and let me bring light? Second. We talked about the greatness of God. We talked about there's no greater power. There's no sin. He won't forgive. There's no person to hard for him to forgive. There's no problem too big for him. There's no situation. That's impossible. We talked about the good news of God. The good news is that Jesus Christ is the Savior. Not me, not you. And sometimes I stress is because we're trying to be the Savior. And maybe here in just a minute, when I give the invitation, you need to give your stress to him. And you need to say, God, I've been trying to be the Savior in my family, in my finances, with my kids, and I can't save them. But, God, I want to turn them over to you. I want to turn every situation over to you as a Savior.
James Greer: [00:19:17] And I want to leave today with peace with you. Stand. Let me pray with you and pray for you. God, I thank you that you sent your son. And his name is Emmanuel. It means God. It's with us. Every single person here that knows Jesus Christ can go straight to you. I think that He is Christ the Savior, the one that has all the power. That he's the one that saves. Not me, not you. There, here. God, sometimes we get so stressed out, especially this time of year. We have so many worries, so many anxieties we're worried about. They we get the right president, that we get the right gift. And God, you've already given us the greatest gift of all, which is your son. Help us. Just relax right now. Help us to become more thankful for what you've done. Help us to know God that we can give our stress and our problems to you. God, is there somebody needs to join the church? Is there somebody that came today that needs somebody to pray with them, to pray for them? God, you said you came that we could have peace and goodwill towards all men. If there's somebody that you don't have peace with, you don't have goodwill. Somebody you need to come pray with. Somebody to come pray for God. Whatever you lay upon their hearts. I pray God you can have your will and your way in the life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

It's good news for it doesn't matter what race. No matter what economic status for you, there's good news.

Amen.
