Raising an Army | Part 1
What Does it Mean To Be Enlisted In The Army Of Jesus?
James Greer
Oct 31, 2021 34m
As followers of Christ, we are all soldiers in the army of Jesus. We cannot be afraid to face what He puts in front of us. Jesus, our Savior, came to save, forgive and set the captive free. If we have the right behavior, serve and obey Him, we will be victorious and be able to stand. Video recorded at Pineville, Louisiana.

James Greer: [00:00:00] Morning, Journey Church. That is a sword, my man. We're going to talk about that after a while. Well, in honor of our new series, Raising an Army, if you're in the military or if you have been in the military, would you please stand? I have a special gift for you today. Would you stand in the balcony or downstairs? Would you stand? Yeah, in the military or have you been in the military. Upstairs too. There you go. Upstairs and downstairs. Right? You got them? Okay. Now stand, stand, stand, stand till they get around. They've got a special gift for you. Good. Well, let's hear for them one more time. Amen? Well, we're starting our new series. It's called Raise an Army. And we've got a verse that you'll be hearing for the next few weeks. It comes from Joshua 1, verse 9. And it says this. Have I not commanded you? It didn't say, asked you. It says, commanded you. Be strong, be of good courage, don't be afraid. Some of you came today and you have some things that you're afraid of. And God's got a word for you today. Don't be afraid nor be dismayed. In other words, don't be discouraged. Why? For the Lord your God is with you everywhere you go. Now, I like to read that in the context because I love Joshua. He’s one of my favorite characters, especially when you're talking about going into battle. And that's what we're doing. We're going to talk about raising an army, and we're going to try to enlist you in the army. In Joshua 1:7, it says, only be strong and very courageous that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses your servant has commanded you. Don't turn to the right. Don't turn to the left. Why? That you may prosper wherever you go. In other words, not just one place but wherever you go, God wants you to prosper. Verse 8 goes on to say this. But this book of laws shall not depart from your mouth that you should meditate on it day and night, that you observe to do according to all that is written.
James Greer: [00:02:04] For you make your way prosperous and then you will be a good success. And then our key verse that's going to be every week for a while. Have I not commanded you, God has a command for you, to be strong, be of good courage, don't be afraid, don't be discouraged, don't be dismayed. Why? Because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Now, see, I love that because there's something about reading this verse and obeying His word that challenges you to want to prosper and be a good success. But there's a key to it. The key is having the Lord your God with you everywhere you go. Amen? So you're either not in His army or you're in His army. You're AWOL from the army or you just enlisted and you haven't been trained to be in the army yet. I was loving it this week. I sent Darrell a message. He said, look, I read it. I love it. I said, I think you ought tell him to either stand up, sign up, or and step out. Get into it. But when I'm talking about the army, I'm not talking about just any army.
James Greer: [00:03:03] I'm talking about God's army. I'm talking about He wants to commission you, to call you, anoint you, and appoint you to do what God called you to do. See, so many people don't really know what their calling is. You're calling is the same thing that Jesus’ was. It’s to seek, to save, and to serve. In Luke 19:10, he says, the Son of Man, He came to seek and to save those that are lost. In fact, in Mark 10:45, it says this. It says, for even the Son of a Man, He did not come to serve but to serve and He gave. See, you know, if you're a Christian and you're on fire for God, you're a generous giver. See, Journey Church, I want you to know that we should be courageous, generous givers. Jesus Christ, He gave His life, ransom for me and you. Amen? You cannot out give God. Do you know what this is all about, this 5K? It's not about running because I can't run. I don't even know if I can walk it. But did you know that I bought some turkeys? And you know why? Because it's a community event sponsored by Journey Church. I want you to at least buy at least one or two turkeys.
James Greer: [00:04:15] I hope you buy a turkey and wear a shirt. And I want you to be there. We can go and we're going to give out turkeys to families. So it's a community event from Journey Church that's trying to bless the community. Amen? So you can take this out by one turkey, two turkeys, everybody by at least one or two turkeys. Amen? And then check it, put your check in there. You can leave it on the kiosk back there. Amen? So because I want you to know, the longer you really focus on what Jesus Christ did for you, you should be a generous giver. Now I want to tell you something about God that you might not know. Number one, number one, that the Lord is a man of war. The Bible says in Exodus 15:3, I love it, the Lord is a man of war. He's a fighter. He is a warrior. And the Lord is His name. I love that because the Lord is a warrior. He's not a wimp. Not like a lot of the media tries to make Him a wimp. He's not. He's an unbelievable warrior. And God is looking for warriors, not just a bunch of wimps to join his army. The Lord means He's the one in authority. He's the master. He's ultimately in control of the whole world.
James Greer: [00:05:22] So you can just relax. The government is not in control. The politicians are not in control. The President’s not in control. The Lord is in control. He’s in control of all the armies. He's the all-powerful one. And the Bible says as long as you sought the Lord, He's going to make you to prosper. Exodus 15:6 says, listen, your right hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power, in fruits. He's able in force and ability. Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemies to pieces. In other words, there's no enemy that can stand against the Lord. Exodus 14:14 says this. For the Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace. In other words, when it says fight for you, He says, I'll go before you. Isaiah 52:12 says, the Lord goes before you. See, if you're in the Lord's army, you still have to fight, but you can't lose the war. You might get some scars. You might get some wounds. But you cannot lose. Did you know that Moses, a lot of these verses were written to Moses? Moses was God's deliver. The children of Israel had been in bondage unbelievable. God sent Moses so pharaoh will let my people go. He finally let them go. They went through the sea. God drowned the enemy. And He said, Listen, go into the Promised Land, the land of milk and honey. They didn't go. God still provided for them. He still protected them even though they didn't go. Now I want to give you a statement that I didn't really realize for years and years. God is good to you, even when you're bad. Amen? God's good when you're bad. Now this isn't a license to be bad. I just want you to know God's good when you're bad.
James Greer: [00:07:08] I know a lot of bad people at Journey Church. You're bad to the bone. I don't mean like bad. I mean bad. We got them both ways. But let me tell you what, God's good to you even when you're bad. The children of Israel, God had delivered them from bondage. Maybe let's say they've been baptized because they went through the Red Sea. God said, I want you to go to the Promised Land but instead of going to the Promised Land, they wandered around the wilderness for 40 plus years. God was still good to them. He provided shoes. They never wore out. He gave them clothes. He gave them water. He gave them clouds to protect them. I mean they were bad, but God was good. They had bad behavior. They were complaining, griping. They wouldn't fight. They wouldn't go forward. Just like a bunch of Christians I know at some churches. God was still good. Now, let me tell you about God was good for them. God had delivered them. Just like many of you, you're saved. Many you have joined the church. Many of you have been baptized. But you're just wandering around. See, what happened to the children of Israel? They were saved.
James Greer: [00:08:12] They were bad behavior. But God was still good. You ready? But they're not enjoying the goodness of God. See, after that, you know, Joshua came alone, and they went from wandering in the wilderness to going in and claiming the Promised Land, the milk and honey. See, what they did is they changed their behavior. They started doing the right thing, the right purpose. They knew what their purpose was. And see now, instead of doing that, they went in, instead of doing the wrong thing, start doing the right thing, and they started enjoying what God was doing for them. See, they were both saved. One wasn't enjoying what God was doing, and the other was enjoying what God was doing. They went from wandering to prosper. They went from wandering to conquering. See, they went from not enjoying what God was doing to enjoying what God was doing for them. And so can you. There's a truth I want you to learn. It's an important truth today. It's an important truth that most Christians don't know or don't accept. I want you to open up your heart to this truth because it's so important. If you're not enjoying what God's doing for you, it’s because of wrong behavior or wrong belief in your life or both. No other reason.
James Greer: [00:09:32] If you're truly saved, if you've been born again and you've been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, if you're not enjoying what He's doing in your life, it’s because you have the wrong behavior in your life or the wrong belief in your life or both. You can change that today. Stop fighting against God and start fighting for and with God. See, the children of Israel did not even understand, just like many of you here don't understand you're fighting against God instead of with God. They were wandering around in the wilderness. God wanted to bring them in the Promised Land. But no, no, no. They said, no, we're not going in there. They griped, and they complained. Some of them said, no, let me go back into bondage. Let me go back to the Egyptians. Let me go back to where I used to be instead of where God wants me to go. And so they had been freed, but they kept acting like a slave. And there's many of you today, you have been freed, you've been bought by the blood of Jesus Christ, and you're still acting like a slave. So stop complaining and start training. There's a difference in trying. You get somebody that gets in trouble, gets in trouble, gets in trouble, gets in trouble, gets in trouble. They say, well, I'm trying. What good does that do? Let's start training. Amen? Stop complaining and start obtaining. Stop complaining and start changing.
James Greer: [00:10:53] Amen? God's a transformation God. He transforms you. See, when you don't know your purpose, if you're not careful, you fight against God at work, at school, at home and every area of your life because you don't know your purpose or you think life's only about your purpose. So you're just wandering around in life. When you begin to fight with God, on your job, in your school and all your life, see, you begin to know your purpose and God's purpose for you and you enjoy what God is doing no matter where you are in life. When you're fighting with God, you still have fights. But you enjoy what God is doing in your life. Caleb, he was 85. Thank God. Amen. I love people older than me in the Bible. If you're here and you're older than me, you better live, brother. I need people older. Amen, Caleb was 85 years old. He said, I'm still strong, man. He said, listen, he said, I still want to fight. He said, Joshua, give me another mountain. He said, man, I'm ready to fight. I've been fighting. I've been out of the wilderness. Now I'm coming to the Promised Land. I am ready to fight. He said, I had to fight, but listen, I'm enjoying the fight. Some of y’all are 20, 25 years old and you’re a bunch of wimps. You’re just wandered around crying, not happy, don't have this, can't get that. Grow up.
James Greer: [00:12:14] 85 years old, he said, man, I'm still strong. I'm ready to fight. See, God doesn't want you to be afraid. Point number three, by the way. He doesn't want you to be afraid. God doesn't want you to be afraid of the battles. He doesn't want you to be afraid of what you have to face. Every one of us has to face problems. I do. You do. We all do. I have problems I have to face at church. Yeah, I love them. They love me. But we still have problems. We have to face each other. I have it at work. My wife's not in this one. I have it at home. Next service, I'll skip that one. She isn’t going to watch it. I have problems everywhere. You know what I found out? When I don't face the problems, they just get bigger. They don't go away. I got a secret for you. Yours don't either. Your problems do not go away. So Jeremiah 1:8 said, do not be afraid of their face. Do not be afraid of your mate. Do not be afraid of your job. Do not be afraid of whatever it is you're afraid of. Stop being afraid of it. Amen? Why? For I am with you to deliver you, sayeth the Lord. Not Brother James. Not Pastor James. The Lord said that. Amen? Address your problem and address it right. And God said, quite being afraid. I'm with you and I'll deliver you.
James Greer: [00:13:29] Amen. The Psalmist said, I'm going to have problems and you're going to have problems. He said, I plead my case, O Lord, with those who strive with me. Fight against those who fight against me. You're going to have those that fight against us. Amen? There's those who are trying to take our loved ones and captive. Those who try to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10 tells us. Jesus clears it up. He said, the thief, which is the devil, he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus said, I've come that you can have life and you can have it more abundant. Jesus tells us, you understand the purpose? He said, do you understand that the devil's purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy? Do you understand my purpose is to come that you could have life and you can have it more abundantly? He said, I think I want to be in Jesus’ Army. Don't you? He's the one that wants to bring abundant life. But before you can do that, you need to learn to count the cost. Before any battle, before you enlist in a war. And by the way, we're going to ask every one of y’all to enlist in the war. But beforehand, you need to count the cost. Luke 14:31 says, or what king, what pastor would even dream of going to war without first sitting down with the staff, done that, or with the counsel? That's the church.
James Greer: [00:14:51] I mean who would even dream of doing that and discuss whether his army of 10,000 is not 10,000, it's 2,357 members, is strong enough to defeat 20,000 men who are marching against them? Now, listen, we need to discuss the cost. Amen? And we need to discuss with the members, we need to discuss with the church. But you know what? I've already done that. I want to bring a challenge and a charge that we fight against the enemy. And I want to tell you why. The first reason we need to fight is because we've got an army that's marching against us. We've got an army that’s marching against us and his name is Satan. And most people are not fighting back. We're just wandering around in the wilderness while he's going around, steal, kill, and destroy. Most people don't even know their plan and their purpose. We need to learn to fight back. Amen? Second of all, because the enemy has an army and he’s stealing, killing, and destroying. He's destroying our lives, our kids, our marriage, and yes, even our nation. That's what's going on in our nation. It is a spiritual war, and he's out destroying it. And we're not even fighting back. And third, I believe we win. I believe we can win the war. See, in Leviticus, I love Leviticus.
James Greer: [00:16:10] He said, I'll chase your enemies. By the way, it says don't run from your enemies, doesn't it? He says, I'll chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the… All right now. That's a sword, baby. I don't know where our youth pastor is, Richie, but I need to talk to him. Do y'all know where I found this sword? In the youth department. I'm not sure, Richie, wherever you are, that this is the place to leave a sword like this. But I want to tell you, it says, you will chase your enemies and they shall fall. Not might fall. They shall fall by the sword before you. Amen? I don't think if I was swinging this sword, that anybody… I'm teaching about the sword. This sword is very dangerous. If I'm swinging this sword, you don't want to come close. Did you know that what else with this sword? The enemy has to fall. I don't believe all of your youth are enemy. This came out of the youth department. I want to invite y’all Wednesday night, 6:30. If you have a youth, they need to come. They're in for a different experience. Trying to help you, Richie. Five of you out here, five of you with this sword, y'all can chase a hundred. But, you know, if we got 10 and 100, y’all could put 10,000 to flight. Your enemy shall fall by the what? The sword before you. Can I tell you what the sword is today? The sword is the Word of God.
James Greer: [00:18:22] Amen? Jesus is the Word. Jesus became the flesh, and He is the sword. I'm telling you, I believe we can win the battle. Do you understand 700 people can chase 70,000. 2,357 can chase 135,000. Journey Church, you need to be in the battle, you need to enlist in the war, and you need to be part of it. Amen? See, the Old Testament was nothing more than a physical picture of spiritual application. But we're into a spiritual battle, and most people are fighting physical each other. Ephesians 6:10 says, finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Man, He is strong. Put on the whole armor of God. Why? That you might be able to stand against the wiles, the schemes of the devil. You don't wrestle against flesh. But you're not fighting against your boss and your pastor and your mate, but against principalities and against powers. And I'm going to tell you, every one of y’all are fighting about somebody right now. You're fighting the wrong way. You really think it's that person. The Bible is trying to make it clear it is spiritual battles. It's against rulers of darkness at this age. It's against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.
James Greer: [00:19:38] See, we're in a spiritual battle. We've got to learn how to fight spiritually. We're going to have Jesus Christ on our side. Jesus became flesh, and He is the Word. How do you fight? You ready? How do you fight? You've got to have the seed and the sword. I wish, y’all can’t even see this seed. I can barely see with my glasses. You got to have a seed and what? The sword. The seed and the sword. This seed is so small, y'all probably can't see it. But let me tell you about the seed. Every one of y'all can do this. In Matthew 17:20, it says this. You ready? So Jesus said unto Journey Church, it was time to fix this floor anyway. Jesus said to Journey Church, because of your unbelief, for assuredly, I say to you, if you had the faith of a mustard seed, that dude is little bitty. Amen? Everybody in here can have that faith. You might not have much faith, but you could have a little faith, right? If you had the faith to put your faith in Jesus Christ, you're saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and you have enough faith to have a little faith. The mustard seed. You shall say to this mountain, this impossible situation, move from here to there, and that dude's got to move. Why? Nothing is impossible for you.
James Greer: [00:21:02] So now you got the faith. Amen? So what do you need next? Ephesians 6:16 and 17, above all, take the shield of what? Faith. You got it already. For it's able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. Now you've got the faith. So now you've got the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is what? The Word of God. That's why it's so important you know the Word, the Word and the faith. Do you understand if you got the Word of God and you got the faith of God, no matter what you come against, it's got to fall. He said, it's got to run. It's got to give up. See, so many people are fighting the wrong thing. In fact, I love the way Hebrews puts it. It says, the Word of God is living. It's powerful. It's sharper. It's got two edges on it. It's sharper than a two-edged sword. You start wielding this thing back and forth, you better not come close to me. Amen? You’re going to die. It's a physical picture or how you can win the battle. You got to have the seed of faith, you've got to have the sword of the spirit, you apply God's Word to whatever you're fighting against, it has to die. It has to give up. Man, we need to get in the battle. What are you fighting for? You got to know who we're fighting with.
James Greer: [00:22:22] It’s Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Word. You got to know your purpose. Your purpose is to seek, to serve, and to save. You got to know what you're fighting for. It’s souls that have been lost or taken into captivity. Matthew 12:25 says, Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, every kingdom divided against itself is going to bring desolation. Every marriage, every family, every church, every building. If you're divided against yourself, you're not going to stand. Every city, every house divided against itself cannot stand. Can't you see that in America today? Don't you see everybody's divided and everybody's fighting and everybody's falling? God didn't mean it that way. That's not what He wants you to do. See, if you don't understand what you're supposed to be fighting for, you fight each other. Everybody's running around fighting each other. Divided. See, if you don't fight the right fight. See, when you don't know your purpose, you will flounder. See, if Satan casts out Satan, he's divided against himself. But he's not. How then will his kingdom stand? But if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they shall say be the judges. So he goes on and says this. Verse 29, I love this. This is really important. It says, but I cast out demons by the spirit of God. Surely the Kingdom of God is coming. And then he says, the Kingdom of God has come now, right?
James Greer: [00:23:56] How can one enter into a strong man's house, that's the devil, and plunder his goods, that's souls that need to be saved and forgiven, unless he first binds the strong man and then plunders the house? You understand that Jesus came and He plundered Satan's goods. He came to save souls, forgive sins, and set the captives free. You understand in John 17:15, He said, I don't pray that you take them out of this world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. Do you understand in Luke 4:18, He's given a declaration for us? He said, the spirit of Lord has come upon us. Amen? Why? Because He's anointing us and appointing us to preach the gospel, the good news, the mending of broken relationships to the poor, those people who are in need. You have a need? Jesus Christ meets your needs. He says to heal a broken heart, you've got a broken heart, Jesus Christ is answered for the broken hearted. And He goes on and He says, listen, to proclaim liberty to those who are captive, you feel like you're in bondage? Hey, to recover the sight of those who are blind, you don't have any direction, Jesus is. To set liberty to those that are oppressed and depressed. I mean Jesus Christ is still the answer. That is your purpose, to seek, to serve, and to save. Amen? He said there's a judge. Judgment of this world. Now will the ruler of this world. He's going to be what? Cast out. But Matthew 12:30 says this. He who will not. this is real important, he who is not with me is against me. Then He says, he who does not gather with me scatters abroad.
James Greer: [00:25:39] You need to be gathering people with Him. When is the last time you invited somebody to church? When is the last time you led somebody to the Lord? See, if you don't gather with Him, you'll be scattered. You'll be wondering. So see, the challenge is this. First, you got to get enlisted into the army. I mean we got next step cards. Everybody, y’all know what a next step card is? It's in your bulletin. It's a little thing says, next step card. You need to take one out and say, hey, I'm going to enlist in the army. And what am I going to do? Did everybody get one of these? If you didn't get one, raise your hand. Upstairs, y’all all got one? Frank, y’all got one, brother? I'm glad to see your wife with you today. Amen? Woohoo. That’s the way to do it, baby. Tell him to get you off on Sundays. Everybody else do the same thing. Y'all take [inaudible]. Okay. Anyway. That’s beside the point. Anyway, here's the challenge. Wear your tag starting today and every day. I want you to enlist in the army. Amen? All right, wimps, I'm preaching about everybody else. Amen, amen. Now it’s your turn. Amen. If you're a member of Journey Church, you're going to enlist. You're enlisted already. Now you're going to battle. How about that? Wear your tag today and the rest of the week. Amen? Holy Moses. And when somebody asks you, what is that tag, you will boldly and courageously say, I'm a member of Journey Church. Some people will fall out right then. Don't worry about it. Just say we have a new series, it's called Raising an Army, and we have been challenged to ask anybody that asks that to come to church. I want to invite you to come to church.
James Greer: [00:27:41] And by the way, do you have any prayer requests? At that time, you give them a card. You should have a card, invite card. So not only that, you invite them to come to church and then you say, is there anything that you need that I can pray for you about? See, and now you've enlisted in the army. And you're not scattering them, you're gathering them. And God said, hey, if you're not gathering with me, you're scattering them and you're against me. So see, I'm challenging you, give them an invite, get into God's army. And if you're a member of Journey Church, you need to be in the army. If you're not a member of Journey Church, now you know, today is a good day you can choose. Do you want to get in the battle or you can be a wimp and run? Whatever you want to do. Second, you can't be in Jesus’ Army unless you have Jesus in your heart. Man, I'm telling you, if there's ever a time you need Jesus in you, with you, for you, and ahead of you fighting for you, it’s yesterday. See, if you know that you sinned and you have sinned, you believe Jesus died for your sin and shed His blood and rose on the third day and you want to come and invite Him into your heart, listen, He'll forgive you today.
James Greer: [00:28:49] Maybe you need to follow through in baptism. You can do that. Maybe, listen, this is so important, the majority of Christians are fighting against God and don't even know it. They're like the children of Israel. They're wandering around the wilderness and they're not enjoying the goodness of God. Because you really don't know your purpose. You didn't know what your purpose was. And so without knowing it, you've been fighting against God. You know how you know it? You haven't been enjoying what God’s been doing in your life. See, God's called you to further His Kingdom. That's the reason He left you here. But His Kingdom, in Romans 14:17, the Kingdom of God is not to eat and drink. It’s peace and joy. Matthew 6:33, says seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. He’ll add everything. You don't have to worry about tomorrow, the next day. He said, I'll take care everything else. You just join me, and you help further my Kingdom. Matthew 12:30 says this. He who is not with me, you're against me. You don't want to be against God. You'll lose. He who does not gather, this is your opportunity, this is the easiest opportunity I've ever seen in my life for you to be part of the gathering process, scatters.
James Greer: [00:30:02] And I think you'll be scattered. Then I’m going to read Matthew 5:13. I'm going to read out a message translation. You ready? Let me tell you why you're here. I love that. Everybody, you want to know why you're here. Amen? You're here to be salt, seasoning that brings out God's favor and flavor. I love that. Because, my word, this year is God's favor and flavor. I want to study the favor of God. One of the things you're here is for people to see God's favor in your life. For this Earth, and if you lose your saltiness, how will people taste your goodness, taste God's goodness? So if you lose your usefulness, you'll end up. You ready? In the garbage. In other words, you’re just like trash. It says, you just feel like you're useless. You're here in this world, but you're just wandering around. See, if you're saved, you are the salt, you are the light. And God said, I want people to see something different in your life. They want you to see the goodness of God in your life. They want to see the favor of God in your life. You’re going to have a different marriage, a different life. You see God's goodness, His favor upon your life. And other people begin to want what you have. You're gathering. People are asking and saying, hey, man, I want to invite you to church. I want to pray for you. I've got a God that goes before me. I’ve got a God that’s with me. There's absolutely nothing too hard for God, and I want you to have that. Amen?
James Greer: [00:31:45] Do you understand, I'm fixing to pray with you, do you understand if you're not in the battle, if you're not enlisted, you can be saved and more than likely, you're like the children of Israel? You're wondering around. God’s still good to you. He still loves you. He still provides for you. You just don't enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy God's goodness, it's because of wrong behavior, wrong belief, or both. Would you stand and let me pray for you? God, you are a good God. Thank you for being with us at Journey Church today. Thank you for the Holy Spirit being here. Thank you for hearts being receptive. Thank you for so many of them enlisting into your army, God. Thank you that Satan and the demons have to flee at the Word and the blood of Jesus Christ that they cannot stand. God, I thank you greater is He that's in me than he that's in the world. God, I pray for those that have been wandering around, that they decide, hey, not anymore. Enough's enough. I'm tired of wandering. I'm tired of being defeated. I enlist in God's army today. I'm going to gather, not going to scatter. For those that don't know Jesus as their personal Savior, today would be the day that say, hey, I want Jesus. Jesus is with me, for me, that goes ahead of me, that fights for me. I know that I've sinned. I believe He died on the cross. I’d like to have Him in my heart. Maybe you need somebody to pray with you and to pray for you. Maybe you've been visiting. Today's the day you want to join the church. You can come to the front or you can do it by your next step card. Maybe you want to make a commitment to follow through in baptism. I tell you, God will lay upon your heart with your next step is if you’ll just ask Him. Maybe you want to sign up and maybe you have the Turkey Trot card and you want to put it in the back. You can do that. But see, I believe God has a next step for us. I believe He's calling Journey Church to be an army, to help set people free, starting with yourself and your own family. Let Jesus have His will and His way. I ask in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
Bruce Goulart: [00:33:58] On behalf of Pastor James, I just want to say thank you for joining our online experience this morning. Y'all, what an amazing start to our new series, Raising an Army. But this weekend, I mean this Saturday, we are having an event, and it is our 5K Susek Turkey Trot. And this is something that you could be a part of in multiple ways because you can either donate online right now or you can participate by running or walking. If you would like to register today, there's a QR code coming up on the screen right now. But also, if you go to JCPineville.com/turkey, you'll be able to register right there. This race is starting at 8:30, but the registration is starting at seven o'clock that morning at Pineville Junior High. So I hope to see you there this Saturday.
Recorded in Pineville, Louisiana.
Amen.
